When things go wrong...

When things go wrong...

Sometimes products don't turn out, regardless of how much planning you did, how organized you were, and despite doing everything correctly. It's always disappointing, and it can get expensive when resin projects don't turn out - unlike knitting and crochet, both of which can be frogged (disassembled for those not into yarn), and the yarn used again.

I keep 95% of my resin mistakes. Some are tossed in a bucket with any over-poured resin that I pull off of my silicone mats.  I also have a box with items that mostly turned out, but can't be sold as they are. These are the items I will be experimenting with. Then there are the items that I'm not comfortable selling at full price due to small flaws, but are otherwise usable. They are labeled as 'imperfect' in the product title.

After demolding things that didn't turn out, if I'm not making an active order, I will take a day off to lick my figurative wounds.  If it's something I'm making for an order, I'll rant a bit to the cats, and make it again (there was one bowl. I made three times for an order).

I never let the irritation bother me for more than a day, because I don't have time for it. Resilience for the win.
